IDID member Kim Min Jae has become involved in controversy after some online users raised suspicions about his recent social media content.

Kim Min Jae, who debuted with the rookie group IDID last September, was accused by some netizens of using elements linked to the far right online community Ilgan Best, also known as Ilbe.

The issue began after a video uploaded through IDID’s official social media account showed footage filmed upside down, with reversed text and the time “19:00” appearing in the content.

On May 30, Starship Entertainment released a statement to explain the situation.

The agency said, “Kim Min Jae was not familiar with the new filming method, so during the filming process, he became confused about the direction and sent the video to the staff member while it was filmed upside down.”

Starship continued, “After the filmed video was sent, we realized during the monitoring process that the video had been filmed upside down. .”

They added, “There was also a discussion about whether to film it again, but we judged that using the video that was accidentally filmed in reverse could also be part of the natural content, so we used it as it was.”

The agency also explained that the reversed subtitles and phrases were edited to match the upside down format of the video and were not created with any special meaning or intention.

Regarding the time shown in the clip, Starship said that “19:00” was the actual time the stage ended. The agency also addressed Kim Min Jae’s use of the phrase “iya,” saying it was used as a normal expression of excitement or surprise.

Starship emphasized, “He used the expression without knowing that it is used on a specific site. It has nothing to do with the specific interpretations being raised online.”

The agency also clarified that the content was not personally edited or uploaded by Kim Min Jae, but was handled through the company’s usual department process.

The controversy continued to spread after Kim Min Jae posted “iya!!” on a fan communication platform, which some online users connected to the same suspicion.

However, Starship denied that there was any specific intent behind the content.
