ITZY’s Ryujin has explained a widely discussed moment from the group’s recent concert in Manila.
During ITZY’s July 11 performance of “THAT’S A NO NO” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Ryujin was seen adjusting her low rise shorts several times while completing the choreography. After the stage ended, she briefly placed her hand inside the waistband to fix the outfit.
A fan cam of the moment later gained attention on online communities. Some viewers believed the clothing appeared uncomfortable and criticized the styling, while others praised Ryujin for continuing the performance despite the issue.
Ryujin later addressed the situation during a live broadcast with fans. She explained that the outfit kept moving upward and had started to hurt.
“The jumpsuit kept riding up, so it was painful”, she said. “I pulled it down without thinking. When I watched the video later, I also thought it looked a little awkward”.
She continued, “My hand did go in quite far. I am sorry to the fans for doing that on stage. I will not put my hand inside my pants on stage again.”
Her explanation suggested that the action was an unplanned attempt to fix an uncomfortable outfit rather than part of the performance.
Meanwhile, “THAT’S A NO NO”, originally released six years ago, has recently gained renewed attention and surpassed 3.61 million views on YouTube.
