Park Bo Gum showed his strong dedication to the new drama Good Boy, even pushing through an injury to finish filming.

On May 29, a press conference was held at The Link Seoul Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Seoul for JTBC’s new weekend drama Good Boy.

The drama is a fun mix of comedy, action, and youth detective stories about former national athletes who become police officers through a special recruitment program. Instead of medals, they now wear police badges and fight against injustice.

Park Bo Gum plays Yoon Dong Joo, a rookie police officer and former boxing gold medalist. He shared how excited he was to take on this action role after finishing his military service.

“This was my first time doing this kind of genre after the military, and I really wanted to try an action role at least once,” he said.

“Playing Dong Joo was physically tough, but my heart was never heavy during filming. I wanted to look like a real athlete, so my fellow actors and I came early every day to practice action scenes together. We trained for more than six months.”

However, Park Bo Gum also revealed he got injured during filming because he pushed himself too hard. “I got a small injury, so filming slowed down because of me,” he explained.

“But the director and staff always encouraged me to take care of myself. Dong Joo recovers quickly in the drama, and like him, I came back to filming after just one and a half months.”

He added, “I’m very sorry for causing delays, but I worked hard without rest. I’m really thankful to everyone. This drama will stay in my heart for a long time, and I believe that feeling will come through on screen. I hope many people find Good Boy fun, fresh, and exciting.”

Good Boy will premiere on JTBC on May 31 at 10:40 PM.
