Taiwanese model Kai, who recently drew attention after appearing beside BLACKPINK’s Jennie, has introduced himself more fully in a new video released by DAZED KOREA.
The fashion magazine shared the clip on July 21 and identified him as the model featured in Jennie’s teaser for her upcoming single, Less than a Lover.
DAZED KOREA wrote, “Kai, whom we met at the DAZED photo shoot. Discover the summer destination recommended by the model from Jennie’s teaser.”
In the video, Kai was shown preparing for the photo shoot while wearing a sleeveless top. The clip gave viewers a clearer look at his face and also featured his speaking voice.
When asked to recommend a summer travel destination, Kai smiled and answered, “Xiaoliuqiu.”
Xiaoliuqiu is a small island located near Pingtung County in southern Taiwan.
Kai explained, “Because it is a small island, it is perfect for a trip of about three days. There is plenty of delicious food, and the sea is clean.”
He ended the interview with a brief greeting in Korean, saying, “Thank you. Goodbye.”
The model gained attention after Jennie posted photos with an unidentified man on July 18 without explaining who he was. The man was later identified as Kai, who appears in the music video for Less than a Lover.
Some international social media users reacted with comments including, “Jennie’s what?” “Jennie’s guy,” and “I hope he becomes a major international star.” These comments reflected curiosity about his appearance in the teaser rather than confirmation of any personal relationship.
Jennie’s new single, Less than a Lover, will be released on July 24 at 1 PM KST.
