Ji Sung’s new JTBC weekend drama “The Apartment Job” is gaining momentum after only two episodes.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 2, which aired on July 12, recorded an average nationwide rating of 5.4 percent. The episode also reached 5.8 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The drama’s ratings increased by nearly 1 percentage point compared to its premiere, setting a new personal best. “The Apartment Job” also ranked No. 1 among all programs airing on non terrestrial channels on Sunday.
The latest episode followed Park Hae Gang, played by Ji Sung, as he began a bold three month plan to become the president of his apartment complex’s residents’ association.
Hae Gang hopes to help Park Yong Man, played by Jung Jin Young, and support his younger siblings. However, he soon realizes that winning the election as a single man living alone will be difficult because residents are more likely to trust candidates with a stable family image.
To improve his chances, he makes a secret 100 million won agreement with Kang Ha Ri, played by Ha Yoon Kyung, and asks her to join him in creating a fake family.
The episode also introduced more tension through Lee Chung Won, played by Park Byung Eun, whose calm and respected public image hides a much darker personality.
Meanwhile, Seo Kang Won, played by Baek Hyun Jin, raised new questions after a private conversation suggested that he may be connected to a hidden secret involving Kang Ha Jung.
With its ratings already rising and its Sunday ranking holding strong, attention is now focused on whether “The Apartment Job” can continue its early success in the coming weeks.
