Actor Lee Dong Gun’s cafe in Jeju appears to have undergone a major change, as a new fashion brand store has reportedly moved into the space where his business once operated.
Lee Dong Gun opened the large cafe in Aewol, Jeju, in April 2025 and was personally involved in running the business. His plans to open the cafe were previously shown on SBS’s My Little Old Boy, where he was seen discussing financing for the project.
The cafe later announced a temporary closure from June 15 to 17. In July, its official social media account shared another notice saying operations would stop while the business underwent reorganization.
The notice stated, “As of July 9, we will be taking some time to reorganize. We sincerely thank everyone who has supported and visited us.”
The announcement came around one year and three months after the cafe first opened.
However, on September 4, photos shared through online communities showed that a fashion brand store had moved into the building previously used by Lee Dong Gun’s cafe.
The development has raised questions about whether the Jeju cafe will return, but no specific reopening plan or future location in Jeju has been announced.
Lee Dong Gun previously said during a live broadcast that he was “preparing to operate in Seoul,” suggesting that his cafe-related business activities may continue in a different location.
For now, the Jeju location appears to have ended its previous operation, while Lee Dong Gun has not yet announced detailed plans for what comes next.
