• Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung talks about being a top Million Miler, sparking mixed reactions from aviation fans

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung recently shared on a YouTube variety show that she is a Million Miler, the highest level of frequent flyer status with Korean Air and SkyTeam airlines.

On May 14, during her appearance on the KODE Code YouTube channel, Sooyoung said, “I like traveling, and I fly a lot. My membership level is Million Miler.”

Million Miler (MM) status is only given to people who have flown over 1 million miles on Korean Air or other SkyTeam member airlines.

This status cannot be earned by using credit card points or partnerships—it must come from actual flights. Usually, business travelers, small business owners, or delivery workers who travel overseas frequently reach this level.

Flying economy class, a person would need about 80 round trips to the U.S. to earn Million Miler status. But celebrities like Sooyoung, who often fly first or business class, can reach the milestone faster.

Despite this, some aviation fans say that benefits for Million Milers don’t improve much beyond the previous level, Morning Calm Premium (MP).

MP is also a lifetime tier given after flying 500,000 miles with Korean Air and SkyTeam. It offers benefits that many consider to be better value.

Million Milers do get easier booking, faster baggage delivery, and access to a special phone line, but beyond that, perks are not very different from MP.

Sooyoung jokingly said on the show, “There’s a rumor that airplanes don’t take off unless Million Milers like me are on board,” but this is not true. Airlines confirm that pilots follow strict procedures and will not wait indefinitely for late passengers.

Sometimes ground staff do search for missing passengers in duty-free areas, but the plane’s departure times are strictly controlled.

Her comments sparked mixed reactions among aviation fans, with some feeling that even top-tier travelers don’t get special treatment beyond a certain point.

  • BTS Jin says he was nervous filming with Shin Se Kyung but their chemistry in the MV tells a different story

BTS member Jin is finally back, and fans can’t stop talking about his new music video.

On May 16, Jin dropped his second mini album Echo, and the title track “Don’t Say You Love Me” is already making waves — especially because of the emotional scenes with actress Shin Se Kyung.

The MV is shot like a drama, showing powerful yet soft acting between Jin and Shin Se Kyung. Their natural eye contact, emotional scenes, and quiet chemistry have left fans saying, “Are they a real couple?” and “Please cast them in a real drama next time!”

But while their chemistry looked perfect on screen, Jin revealed that he was actually super nervous behind the scenes.

In a recent interview, Jin shared, “It was my first time acting with a professional actress, so I was really awkward and clumsy. I was so nervous that things didn’t go as I imagined.”

Still, he praised Shin Se Kyung for helping him through the scenes. “I was very thankful to Shin Se Kyung for her passionate acting. If you look closely, you might catch me looking awkward,” he said, laughing.

Jin also shared a funny moment during filming: “There was one scene in a parking lot, and the wind was blowing like crazy. My hair kept flying everywhere, and I couldn’t act properly. We ended up changing my hairstyle to finish filming.”

His new album Echo tells honest stories about love, friendship, choices, and emotions we feel in everyday life. Fans are touched by how personal and heartfelt Jin’s songs and acting are in this comeback.
