Former BIGBANG member Seungri has addressed a complaint filed against him over an alleged special assault case, stating that he will cooperate with the investigation and clarify the facts.
On September 10, reports revealed that a complaint was filed against Seungri, whose real name is Lee Seung Hyun, at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul regarding an alleged incident involving a man in his 30s at a restaurant in Gangnam.
Seungri shared his side of the situation, claiming that the incident began after a drunk customer from another table repeatedly asked to join his group.
“The person continued asking to join us even after we refused several times, saying he wanted to talk about his business ideas. There was an argument during that process,” Seungri said.
He claimed that the situation later became more casual, saying they eventually sat together, talked, shared drinks, exchanged contact information, and ended the meeting on friendly terms.
Regarding the allegation that he committed special assault, Seungri acknowledged that he held a bottle during the disagreement but denied using it in a threatening manner.
“It is true that I held a bottle while expressing that I did not want to join together, but I only held it and did not swing it or threaten him,” he stated.
Seungri also said he has prepared materials related to the incident, including messages exchanged afterward, restaurant CCTV footage, and statements from witnesses who were reportedly present at the scene.
He added that he plans to fully cooperate with authorities.
“I will cooperate with the investigation and reveal the truth based on the facts,” Seungri said.
Police are currently reviewing the complaint, and the allegations have not been confirmed by the court. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
