Kim Sung Oh is gaining attention for his intense performance as Netflix’s Mousetrap reaches the top of the global charts.
After ranking No. 5 among Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Shows just three days after its release, Mousetrap climbed to No. 1 in its second week with 4.4 million views. The thriller also entered the Top 10 in 45 countries.
Mousetrap follows novelist Moon Jae, whose name, identity, and life are stolen by a mysterious person known as “The Rat.” He becomes involved with loan shark Noja and detective Sun Yong as they search for the truth behind the mysterious figure.
Kim Sung Oh plays Seung Gyu, an identity laundering specialist who adds another layer of tension to the story. His confrontations with Sul Kyung Gu’s Noja have particularly highlighted the character’s cold and threatening side.
The actor also portrays Seung Gyu’s more complicated emotions, including his conflicting feelings toward Noja, through restrained expressions and intense action scenes.
Kim Sung Oh has previously built a reputation for transforming himself across different characters, and his performance in Mousetrap is once again drawing attention to his range.
With Mousetrap reaching No. 1 on Netflix’s global non-English chart and entering the Top 10 across 45 countries, the series continues to gain international attention while Kim Sung Oh stands out among its supporting cast.
