• Kim Tae Yeon tells all about the life-changing moment IU helped her prepare for her first award show

Rising child actress Kim Tae Yeon recently opened up about her touching bond with singer-actress IU, and fans can’t stop smiling.

On the May 3 episode of JTBC’s Knowing Brothers, a Children’s Day special featured young stars including trot singers Park Sung On, Lee Soo Yeon, Hwang Min Ho, and Yoo Ji Woo, plus child actors Kim Tae Yeon, Lee Cheon Moo, and Oh Ji Yul.

Kim Tae Yeon, who played the young Ae Sun in When Life Gives You Tangerines, made her first-ever variety show appearance and surprised viewers with a heartfelt story about IU.

She shared, “I got into a car accident on the way to the audition, but I begged my mom to still go because I really wanted to be in that drama.”

Tae Yeon revealed that she’s been a fan of IU since she was just 7 years old. “I worked so hard preparing for the audition because I really wanted to play IU unnie’s younger version,” she said.

Her hard work paid off—not only did she land the role, but she was also nominated for Best New Actress at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards.

“I came home from my academy and saw my mom crying. I asked what happened, and she said, ‘You were nominated for a Baeksang award!’ I was so happy because it’s always been a dream of mine to go to that show,” Tae Yeon recalled.

And IU? She went above and beyond to help her young co-star shine.

“It was my first time attending an award show, so I didn’t know what to wear,” Tae Yeon said. “IU unnie contacted me first and said she wanted to help. She picked the fabric and rhinestones herself when I tried on dresses. I was so touched by her kindness.”

Even though the two didn’t share scenes in the drama, IU still made Tae Yeon feel special. “We didn’t film together, but when she saw me on set, she called out, ‘Tae Yeon-ah!’ She even invited me to her concert and sent a coffee truck on the last day of filming. I was really happy.”

Fans are loving this sweet sunbae-hoobae relationship, and many are praising IU for her genuine care and support behind the scenes.

IU continues to prove she’s not only a superstar—but a real-life angel too.

  • Tomorrow X Together (TXT) shock fans by hitting No. 1 in Japan with 'Love Language' while on tour—only K-pop act in top 5

Tomorrow X Together (TXT) is once again showing their global power!

On May 4, BigHit Music announced that TXT’s latest digital single “Love Language” had climbed to No. 1 on Line Music Japan’s ‘Top 100 Songs’ daily chart, just a day after its release.

The song debuted at No. 12 on May 2 and jumped 11 spots to grab the top spot on May 3. Over on Oricon’s ‘Daily Digital Single Ranking’, the song also ranked high at No. 2, making TXT the only international artist to rank in the top 5 on both major Japanese charts.

But TXT’s success isn’t just limited to Japan. “Love Language” also topped iTunes ‘Top Songs’ charts in nine countries and regions, including Japan, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Portugal. The track also charted high on the Worldwide iTunes Songs chart, standing proudly alongside songs by global pop giants.

Love Language is a sweet and emotional track that compares love to learning a new language. TXT members express the desire to understand someone they care about, even when it’s not easy to communicate.

The song is especially meaningful because the group dropped it as a surprise gift for fans during their ongoing world tour, ‘ACT : PROMISE’ – EP. 2.

Fans are going wild over the song’s catchy vibes, sharp group choreography, and one unforgettable moment where the members briefly lift their shirts, showing their abs—a performance detail that’s gone viral across fan communities.

TXT is clearly not slowing down, and Love Language is another major step in their rise as a global K-pop powerhouse.
