• Brown Eyed Girls' Ga In breaks down as she shares how her mom saved her life during her darkest days

Brown Eyed Girls' Ga In opened up about her long break from the spotlight—and the emotional reason behind her return.

On April 11, Ga In appeared in a new episode of "Lim Seul Ong’s Girls Ong Top" on the YouTube channel ‘Ong Style.’ The video, titled “Fourth guest Son Ga In. A story full of laughter and tears – everything revealed on Ong Style,” showed a very honest and emotional side of the singer.

Lim Seul Ong gently asked how she had been, saying, “You were out of touch for years.”

Ga In replied, “I went through some incidents… and I was really struggling. I had depression, insomnia, and panic disorder. These are pretty common in our industry. Because of that, I just stayed home all the time.”

She then shared how her mother stepped in at her lowest point.

“I was falling into a slump, but my mom, who runs a store, pulled me out of the house to help,” she said. “There were 6 to 7 staff members working there, and I told her I didn’t want to go out. There were bad news reports about me too, so I said I wouldn’t leave the house for a month. But the next day, she took me out anyway.”'

Ga In admitted the first week was very hard. “I couldn’t even make eye contact with the staff because I thought they knew everything. But after working every day and coming home tired, I would just fall asleep. I didn’t even check my phone.”

She shared, “Later on, my mom stopped coming in for a few days and left the store to me. I had more responsibilities. Work ended around 11 or 12 at night, and by the time I got home, I didn’t even have time to feel lonely.”

Tearing up, Ga In thanked her mother, saying, “My mom’s way of helping—it worked. If it weren’t for that, I don’t know where I’d be. Just thinking about it makes me cry. I think she was having a hard time too… but what she did saved me.”

She added, “Those three years felt so long and scary. I also feel bad because when I was younger and doing well, I didn’t really go to my mom. But when I was struggling, I went to her. That makes me feel guilty. Now, I want to do well. I want to be a good daughter. I’m at a time in my life where I think a lot about how I should live.”

Back in 2021, Ga In was fined for using propofol in 2019. At the time, her agency explained, “While promoting, Ga In had many injuries that caused severe pain, depression, and sleep problems. During that time, she made a wrong decision.”

After stepping back for self-reflection, Ga In slowly began returning to the public eye. She made her first comeback in June last year by joining fellow Brown Eyed Girls member Miryo on KFN Radio’s “Miryo’s Freestyle.”

Fans are now cheering for her recovery and hopeful return.

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
