Ji Chang Wook and Imada Mio’s new romantic comedy Merry Berry Love is showing strong early international results after releasing only two episodes.
According to streaming ranking tracker FlixPatrol, the series had entered Disney+’s TV show Top 10 in a cumulative 72 countries and regions as of October 15, including France, Spain, Poland, and Mexico.
Merry Berry Love also climbed as high as No. 2 on FlixPatrol’s worldwide Disney+ TV show ranking following the release of episode 2 on October 14.
The result gives the Korea-Japan production a wide international reach at an early stage of its run.
Merry Berry Love follows Lee Yoo Bin, played by Ji Chang Wook, a Korean space planner whose career has suffered a setback, and Shirahama Karin, played by Imada Mio, a Japanese strawberry farmer. Their unexpected connection develops on a beautiful island, with the drama combining romance and light comedy.
Episode 2 moves the pair’s relationship forward as Yoo Bin begins spending more time on Karin’s strawberry farm. The episode focuses on their initially difficult dynamic while gradually developing their connection without revealing major story developments.
The series is part of CJ ENM’s global content lineup and is released every Wednesday on Disney+. It also airs weekly on Japan’s Nippon TV.
With a No. 2 worldwide peak and Top 10 appearances across 72 countries and regions after just two episodes, Merry Berry Love is off to a strong international start.
