Ji Chang Wook is returning to the romance genre alongside Japanese actress Mio Imada in the upcoming Korean Japanese project Merry Berry Love.

CJ ENM confirmed that Merry Berry Love will premiere worldwide on October 7 through Disney+. The drama is the first joint production between CJ ENM and Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV.

The story follows Lee Yoo Bin, played by Ji Chang Wook, a Korean spatial planner who suddenly loses everything and begins a new life working on a strawberry farm. There, he meets Shirahama Karin, a Japanese farmer played by Mio Imada, whose life has largely revolved around growing strawberries.

As the two characters come from very different backgrounds, their unexpected meeting gradually develops into a cross border romance.

The project also marks Ji Chang Wook's return to the romance genre after about three years. The actor previously showed his romantic side in projects including Suspicious Partner, Lovestruck in the City, and Welcome to Samdal-ri.

This time, Ji Chang Wook will show a different side as Lee Yoo Bin transforms from a perfectionist professional into a worker adjusting to life on a strawberry farm.

The newly released main poster offers an early look at Ji Chang Wook and Mio Imada's chemistry. Ji Chang Wook is shown holding Imada closely while smiling at her, teasing the romantic relationship that will develop between their characters.

The poster also includes the line, “What kind of love did you plant today?”

A newly released teaser further shows Lee Yoo Bin starting over on Charo Island after losing what he once had. While working in the strawberry fields, he becomes increasingly connected with Karin, setting up the central romance without revealing too much about how their relationship develops.

Nam Yoon Su will also appear as Park Gu Nam, a working holiday traveler who chooses to remain on the island for love, adding a lighter presence to the story.

Merry Berry Love will premiere globally on Disney+ on October 7. In Japan, the series will also air every Wednesday on Nippon TV.
