MBC’s A Bona fide Killer continues to gain attention as the Gong Hyo Jin-led drama posted strong ratings and reached a new peak of 13.3%.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 10 of A Bona fide Killer, which aired on August 29, recorded a nationwide household rating of 9.9%. The drama also earned 9.7% in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking No. 1 among all programs airing in the same time slot across channels.

The episode climbed even higher during a scene featuring Gong Hyo Jin’s character Yoo Bona singing A Million Roses at a karaoke room. Ratings rose to an impressive peak of 13.3% during the moment.

The drama also performed strongly among the key 20 to 54 demographic, posting a 3.3% rating and ranking No. 1 among all programs broadcast that day in the category.

Episode 10 centered on the growing investigation surrounding the mysterious assassin known as Kingfisher, with Yoo Bona, Kwon Tae Sung, played by Jung Joon Won, and Lee Dong Jin, played by Lee Sang Yi, becoming increasingly connected to the same case.

A past conversation also highlighted the different views the characters have toward Kingfisher. Kwon Tae Sung asked Lee Dong Jin what he would do if Kingfisher killed their target. Dong Jin maintained that Kingfisher would still be considered a murderer and should face the law.

Yoo Bona, who happened to be nearby, then teasingly told him, “Stay strong, future detective.”

The episode used the exchange to underline one of the drama’s central conflicts: whether justice should always remain within the law, even when the legal system cannot provide the outcome some people want.

Rather than revealing every major development, the latest episode further tightened the connection between Yoo Bona’s secret activities and the investigation closing in on Kingfisher. Kwon Tae Sung also began questioning assumptions he had previously made about the assassin’s identity, while Dong Jin became more deeply involved in the official investigation.

Meanwhile, Yoo Bona’s everyday life as a mother provided a quieter contrast to the growing danger surrounding her. Other supporting characters also received lighter moments involving romance and unexpected personal backgrounds.

By the end of the episode, a special investigation team dedicated to tracking Kingfisher had been formed, signaling that the search for the assassin is entering a more serious stage.

With its nationwide rating reaching 9.9%, a 13.3% peak, and another No. 1 finish in its time slot, A Bona fide Killer is maintaining strong momentum as its central mystery moves closer to Yoo Bona.
