Gong Hyo Jin is heading into one of the most dangerous moments yet in MBC’s A Bona Fide Killer as the drama enters a crucial stage of its story.
Ahead of episode 9, MBC released new stills showing Yoo Bo Na, played by Gong Hyo Jin, in a tense rooftop confrontation with Sergei, played by Shin Hyun Soo.
The conflict becomes more personal after Bo Na learns that Sergei has approached her family. In previous episodes, Sergei gave her a doll containing a listening device and later came face-to-face with Kwon Tae Sung, played by Jung Joon Won, while Bo Na was searching for him.
It was also revealed that Sergei was connected to Tae Sung’s past kidnapping, raising new questions about his motives and his connection to the mysterious Kingfisher.
The newly released images show Bo Na directly confronting Sergei after realizing that her family may be in danger. Their confrontation eventually turns physical, with the two fighting on a rooftop as tensions surrounding Kingfisher continue to grow.
The upcoming episode will also reveal more about Tae Sung’s kidnapping and why Sergei targeted him in the past. At the same time, detective Lee Dong Jin, played by Lee Sang Yi, will be forced to confront painful memories after learning that the person responsible for killing his parents 20 years ago has been released from prison.
The production team teased that several important connections will become clearer, saying, “From Kwon Tae Sung’s kidnapping to Lee Dong Jin’s painful past, the relationships surrounding Kingfisher will gradually be revealed.”
They added that the characters’ complicated histories will begin connecting directly to the current crisis, increasing the tension as the drama moves forward.
Based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name, A Bona Fide Killer airs episode 9 on August 28 at 9:50 p.m. KST on MBC.
