Jung Joon Won has shared his excitement about working with Gong Hyo Jin in MBC’s upcoming Friday Saturday drama “Killer of Married Woman”.
The new series, which premieres on July 31, follows a working mother with a dangerous profession as she tries to balance her career and family life.
Jung Joon Won plays Kwon Tae Sung, the supportive husband of Yoo Bo Na, played by Gong Hyo Jin. His character is an investigative reporter who helps his wife return to work after three years while also following clues connected to the mysterious Kingfisher.
Explaining why he joined the drama, Jung Joon Won said, “The script was very exciting and entertaining. Another major reason was the opportunity to work with Gong Hyo Jin, whom I have been a fan of for a long time”.
He described Kwon Tae Sung as both a “devoted husband” and a “loving father.”
Jung Joon Won explained, “Tae Sung is filled with so much love for his family that it would not be an exaggeration to say he lives only for them. Viewers will understand this when they watch the drama.”
The actor also admitted that his real personality is different from his character. He said, “I am generally quieter and more reserved than Tae Sung. He has many qualities that I do not have, so I worked hard to match the character.”
Jung Joon Won then praised Gong Hyo Jin and their on screen chemistry.
He shared, “Gong Hyo Jin has the ability to make her co star’s heart flutter just by being together on set. I was very happy simply to work with her, and our chemistry was naturally very good”.
He also spoke warmly about Lee Sang Yi, saying, “His positive and bright energy inspired me a lot. We became close like real friends and tried to make that relationship feel natural in the drama.”
Jung Joon Won described “Killer of Married Woman” as a story centered on family love. He said, “My goal in playing Tae Sung is to show what love between family members truly means.”
Expressing confidence in the upcoming series, he added, “I am certain this drama will satisfy viewers beyond their expectations”.
