Netflix original series “Teach You a Lesson” has taken the top spot as the most loved broadcast and video program in Korea for June.
According to Gallup Korea, the survey was held from June 23 to 25 among 1,000 adults aged 18 and older across the country. Respondents were asked to name up to two programs they enjoy watching the most these days.
“Teach You a Lesson” ranked No. 1 with a strong 10.7% preference rating, making it the most popular program in the latest survey.
The Netflix series released all 10 episodes on June 5. The drama stars Kim Moo Yeol, Jin Ki Joo, P.O, and Lee Sung Min. It is based on the popular webtoon of the same name and follows a group connected to the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau as they deal with serious school related problems.
The series gained attention for its intense story about education, school issues, and people who feel they were not protected by the usual system. Without revealing major spoilers, the drama became a hot topic for giving viewers a strong sense of justice and relief.
This also marks another major win for Netflix original content in Gallup Korea’s rankings. Since Gallup Korea began including OTT content in its “favorite broadcast and video program” survey in 2023, “Teach You a Lesson” has become the sixth Netflix original to reach No. 1.
Other Netflix originals that previously topped the ranking include “The Glory”, which recorded 14.8% in March 2023, “Culinary Class Wars” with 7.8% in October 2024, “Squid Game Season 2” with 5.6% in January 2025, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” with 5.1% in February 2025, and “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” which stayed on top from March to May 2025 and reached 11.7% in April.
JTBC weekend drama “Reborn Rookie” ranked No. 2 with 3.4% preference. The fantasy revenge drama stars Son Hyun Joo, Lee Jun Young, Lee Joo Myung, Lee Sung Wook, and Kim Jong Tae. The story centers on a powerful company chairman who becomes involved in a new life after a shocking incident, leading to a battle to protect his company and fight unfairness.
KBS 2TV weekend drama “Recipe for Love” and SBS Friday Saturday drama “My Royal Nemesis” tied for No. 3 with 3.0% each. “Recipe for Love” stars Jin Se Yeon and Park Ki Woong, while “My Royal Nemesis”, which ended on June 20, starred Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun.
MBC daily drama “The First Man”, starring Ham Eun Jung and Oh Hyun Kyung, ranked No. 5 with 2.4%. Nature documentary “I Am a Natural Person” followed at No. 6 with 2.3%, while MBC’s “I Live Alone” ranked No. 7 with 2.2%.
ENA and SBS Plus dating show “I Am SOLO” placed No. 8 with 2.1%. tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” and KBS 1TV’s daily drama “Our Happy Good Day” tied for No. 9 with 1.9%.
Because the survey period took place during the early group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, JTBC and KBS World Cup broadcasts also entered the rankings. Both recorded 1.8% and tied at No. 11.
Other shows in the top 20 included JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014” at No. 13 with 1.4%. TVING and tvN drama “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,” MBC drama “Fifties Professionals,” and SBS variety show “My Little Old Boy” tied at No. 14 with 1.2%.
SBS’s “Running Man” and KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” tied at No. 17 with 1.1%. MBN’s “Nameless Legend” and JTBC’s “Divorce Camp” tied at No. 19 with 1.0%.
With a double digit preference score, “Teach You a Lesson” clearly led June’s ranking and showed strong public interest among Korean viewers.
