Jang Seung Jo is drawing strong attention for his intense villain performance in SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis”.

The actor plays Choi Moon Do, the president of Chail Construction, and also the fictional Joseon king An Jong. His character has been one of the drama’s strongest sources of tension, especially as his position begins to fall apart.

In episodes 9 and 10, Choi Moon Do was pushed away from his place as the heir to Chail Group and was told that he would be transferred to the company’s U.S. branch.

After the episodes aired, viewers reacted strongly to Jang Seung Jo’s acting, with comments such as, “Jang Seung Jo, please go easy on the acting,” and “I got chills when he smiled, so I moved away from the TV.”

Instead of showing anger only through shouting, Jang Seung Jo used small details to express his character’s darker side. His trembling eyes, rough breathing, and bloodshot stare made Choi Moon Do’s anger feel even more intense.

One scene that especially stood out was when Choi Moon Do knelt in front of Chairman Cha Dal Soo, played by Yoon Joo Sang. Although the character seemed desperate, his eyes still showed greed and danger, leaving a strong impression on viewers.

Choi Moon Do is also gaining attention because he is not being shown as a villain with a sad reason behind his actions. Instead, viewers are calling him a “100% pure villain,” making Jang Seung Jo’s performance feel even more chilling.

With his sharp expressions and controlled acting, Jang Seung Jo continues to prove his strong presence in “My Royal Nemesis,” raising curiosity about how far Choi Moon Do will go next.
