SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis” is gaining stronger attention as Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun’s changing relationship helped the drama set a new personal best in ratings.

Episode 4 of “My Royal Nemesis”, which aired on May 16, recorded 6.0% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea. This is a 0.2% point increase from episode 3, which recorded 5.8%, and marks the drama’s highest rating so far.

Its target rating among viewers aged 20 to 49 also reached a peak of 3.17%, showing that the drama is building strong word of mouth with each episode.

The drama is also performing well on Netflix. “My Royal Nemesis” became the first SBS Friday Saturday drama to rank No. 1 on Netflix’s “Global Top 10 Non English Shows” weekly chart, according to Tudum as of May 10.

It also ranked No. 1 among TV shows in Korea and has continued to stay at the top of “Today’s Top 10 Series in Korea” since its release, as of May 17.

In the latest episode, Shin Seo Ri, played by Lim Ji Yeon, and Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun, showed a more confusing but exciting shift in their relationship.

Se Gye tried to keep a cold business attitude toward Seo Ri, saying, “I will buy you at the lowest price right before delisting and sell you at the highest price.” However, he soon found himself worrying about her and wondered, “Why did I make a risky move that was not even in the plan?”

Seo Ri, meanwhile, misunderstood Se Gye’s kindness as fan love, adding comedy to their growing tension. Later, Se Gye also misunderstood Seo Ri’s letter and thought, “This woman likes me,” bringing both humor and romance into the episode.

The most talked about moment came near the ending, when Seo Ri became emotional and said, “When you look at me with those eyes, how can I not misunderstand?” Se Gye then answered, “What if it is not a misunderstanding?” before pulling her into a strong hug.

With its rising ratings, strong Netflix ranking, and the growing tension between Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun’s characters, “My Royal Nemesis” is quickly becoming one of the most talked about Friday Saturday dramas.
