Kim Jae Joong has shared an emotional message after returning to KBS2’s Music Bank for the first time in 18 years.

On August 22, the singer and actor reflected on the milestone through social media, saying the appearance meant much more to him than simply performing on a music show again.

Jae Joong wrote, “Appearing on ‘Music Bank’ after 18 years was not just another broadcast appearance for me. It may seem like nothing special to others, but…”

He continued by thanking the fans who stayed with him over the years.

He said, “I think this was a day created together by the fans who endured all that time and by the years I continued making music without stopping.”

Jae Joong added, “I sincerely thank everyone who made it possible for me to stand on this stage again after 18 years.”

Music Bank MC Kim Jae Won later commented, “Thank you so much for coming.”

Jae Joong warmly replied, “Having Jae Won there gave me a lot of strength during ‘Music Bank’!”

Jae Joong appeared on the August 21 episode of Music Bank, where he performed Tonight, the title track from his new single THE WAVE, which was released on August 20.

After finishing the performance with fans cheering for him, he ended the stage by saying, “Thank you.”

The appearance marked Jae Joong’s first time returning to Music Bank as a solo artist in 18 years, making the moment especially meaningful for both him and longtime fans.

Jae Joong is also set to meet fans at his solo concert 2026 KIM JAE JOONG CONCERT [THE WAVE] on August 29 and 30 at KBS Arena in Seoul.
