Han Yejin, an original member of Brave Girls (now BB Girls), has shared her honest thoughts about life after leaving the group and how she felt when Rollin’ went viral years later.

On September 4, Yejin appeared on the YouTube channel One Mic. She debuted with Brave Girls in 2011 and left the group in 2014.

In the interview, she said, “I’ve never once regretted leaving. Even when the group did so well with Rollin’, I thought, ‘They endured longer than me, so they deserve these good days,’ and I sincerely congratulated them.”

She added, "I was also grateful they still used the name Brave Girls. If that name didn’t exist, nobody would have cared, but people said, ‘Oh, she’s a former Brave Girls member,’ and that gave me another chance for recognition. I’m thankful for that, and I have no regrets.”

Explaining her decision to leave, Yejin shared, “There were many reasons. Maybe things have changed now, but at that time our company was managing their first girl group, so they were very strict. They didn’t let us get close to other singers at music shows."

She added, "But the hardest part was not being able to see or talk to my family at such a young age. That frustration lasted two to three years. Also, since I wasn’t making money, I felt no sense of achievement.”

Yejin also opened up about her struggles after leaving. “Because being a singer was something I wanted so badly, after I left, I never watched music shows again. It hurt too much to give up what I wanted most."

She added, "Even after leaving, I felt so jealous and envious, thinking, ‘Why am I like this?’ Those complicated feelings made me not even know which boy groups or girl groups are active these days.”

Now, Yejin has moved on to a new career as a show host. “The timing was good. When Brave Girls went viral again with Rollin’, I passed my exam and became a show host. I’ve been doing this for four years now. It’s actually harder than being in a girl group, but I’m happy in my work,” she said.
