TXT has reached a new career milestone in Japan as Setsuna Hanabi climbed to No. 1 on both Oricon and Billboard Japan.
According to Oricon’s latest weekly charts for the August 17–23 tracking period, TXT’s Japanese single Setsuna Hanabi took No. 1 on the Weekly Digital Singles Ranking. This marks the group’s first time topping the chart.
The song recorded 8,410 downloads in its first week, setting a new personal best for TXT. The figure comfortably surpassed their previous record of 5,682 first-week downloads for We’ll Never Change, the title track from their Japanese single CHIKAI.
Setsuna Hanabi also ranked No. 2 on Oricon’s Weekly Combined Singles Ranking, No. 2 on the Weekly Singles Ranking, and No. 6 on the Weekly Streaming Ranking.
TXT achieved another major first on Billboard Japan. On the latest Billboard Japan Hot 100 covering the same tracking period, Setsuna Hanabi reached No. 1, giving the group its first chart-topper on the Hot 100.
The track also topped Billboard Japan’s Hot Shot Songs and Download Songs charts. It placed No. 2 on Top Singles Sales and No. 22 on Streaming Songs. On LINE MUSIC’s weekly song chart for August 19–25, it ranked No. 2.
Setsuna Hanabi compares an unavoidable farewell to fireworks fading at the end of a summer night, combining an emotional sound with the five members’ expressive vocals.
Interest is also growing around another track from the release, Silence, which has been selected as the theme song for the Japanese film Okiharu-kun no Namida wo Koroshite, scheduled to open in Japan on October 2.
TXT is continuing promotional activities in Japan following the release. The group recently performed for around 6,000 fans at Tokyo Garden Theater and is scheduled to appear on programs including Music Station, Venue101, and CDTV Live! Live!
With first-ever No. 1 rankings on both Oricon’s Weekly Digital Singles chart and the Billboard Japan Hot 100, Setsuna Hanabi has given TXT one of their strongest chart performances in Japan to date.
