BTS’s V is once again proving his superstar power, this time by setting off a magazine sales frenzy in Japan — even before the issue hit shelves!
V is the cover star for the September issue of W Korea, marking his first magazine cover since completing his military service. As soon as the news dropped, fans in Korea and around the world rushed to grab a copy — and the response has been nothing short of explosive.
Only a month after his discharge, V is already turning heads with his flawless visuals and bold fashion. The teaser clip for the cover release has already racked up over 19.14 million views, getting closer to 20 million, while the behind-the-scenes video reached 10 million views in just 10 hours!

V’s impact didn’t stop with fans. Big names in global fashion like Law Roach, who styled Zendaya, and Karla Welch, known for working with Justin Bieber and Camila Cabello, both liked his photos. The buzz proves V isn’t just a K-pop star — he’s a global fashion icon.
Japanese fans especially couldn’t wait. Even before Korea opened pre-orders, Japan’s top online marketplace Rakuten started selling the issue early. The response? Incredible. W Korea's September issue with V on the cover took the entire Top 10 in Rakuten’s K-pop magazine & photobook bestseller list.
On Qoo10 Japan, another popular shopping site, it was the same story — V’s cover held spots 1 through 10, and even 12th to 18th, plus 20th and 21st, meaning V’s issue dominated 17 of the top 20 spots. That’s a rare record!

Even outside magazine sales, V’s popularity in Japan continues to shine. In Nehan’s male idol ranking (July 28–August 3), V ranked #1 for 227 weeks in a row. Over on Bihan, a Korean actor ranking site, he also held #1 for 223 straight weeks in the “20s Korean actor” category.
And it doesn’t stop there — on K-board, V has ranked #1 for 183 weeks in the K-pop idol popularity rankings, while also topping categories like “Best Korean Drama Actor” and “Flower Boy”.
On KPOP JUICE, a K-pop info site, V is still the most favorited artist. He also continues to dominate X (formerly Twitter) and Google Trends Japan, leading in K-pop mentions and searches.
V’s cover is more than just a photoshoot — it’s proof that his star power is stronger than ever. Whether it’s visuals, fashion, or fan love, V is continuing to shine on a global scale.
