Girls’ Generation’s Yuri drew attention for her lighthearted response after receiving a critical message about her new project group HyoRiSoo.

On August 31, Yuri held an “Ask Me Anything” session on social media, where fans and followers were able to send her questions and comments.

One user brought up HyoRiSoo, Yuri’s project with fellow Girls’ Generation members Hyoyeon and Sooyoung, and questioned whether the group’s positive response was limited mainly to longtime fans.

The commenter wrote, “You should know that the good response to HyoRiSoo is not from the general public but mostly from old Girls’ Generation fans. You should be more objective and understand your level.”

Rather than directly arguing with the message, Yuri reposted it to her social media Story and added an old broadcast image of Choo Sarang picking her nose.

Yuri did not add a written response, but the humorous image appeared to suggest that she was not taking the criticism too seriously.

HyoRiSoo began through content on Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel Hyo’s Level Up, where Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung playfully competed over positions such as main vocalist and center.

The project later developed into an official unit activity. HyoRiSoo is set to release its first digital single Skibidi on August 31 at 6 p.m. KST.

Yuri debuted with Girls’ Generation in 2007 and has since worked as both a singer and actress. Her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment ended in July, though she is expected to continue participating in future Girls’ Generation activities.
