Actor Lee Yong Joo, known for appearances in dramas including Princess Hours and Blue Tower, was laid to rest on August 31 at the age of 44.
His funeral procession was held at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital Funeral Hall in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, with his final resting place set at Seongnam City Funeral Culture Center.
Lee Yong Joo passed away suddenly on August 29. According to reports, the cause of death was a heart attack.
A friend announced the news through a comment on the late actor’s social media account, writing, “My friend Lee Yong Joo suddenly passed away. It is difficult to believe the news. Please remember him warmly and pray for him on his final journey.”
Several of his former co-stars from tvN’s Blue Tower, which aired from 2012 to 2014, also shared messages remembering him.
Kim Jae Woo described Lee Yong Joo as a caring colleague who always showed strong dedication to acting.
He wrote, “I can still clearly remember him walking toward us on set with a big smile. Yong Joo was a good person who sincerely cared about his colleagues and an actor who was more passionate than anyone.”
Lee Yong Joo was born in 1982 and made his acting debut in the 2004 film Thomas An Jung Geun. He later appeared in productions including Hello Franceska, Princess Hours, and the Rude Miss Young Ae series.
His colleagues and fans have continued to share condolences while remembering his work and passion for acting.
