HYBE’s new girl group TUIDE is off to a strong start, with its debut album TUNE & PLAY entering the all-time Top 10 for first-week sales among girl-group debut albums.
According to HYBE on August 31, Hanteo Chart data showed that TUNE & PLAY sold 112,282 copies during its first week of release. The result places the album at No. 10 among girl-group debut albums based on first-week sales.
HYBE also said the figure is the highest first-week debut album sales recorded by a female artist who debuted in South Korea this year.
TUIDE is also showing early growth on major music charts with debut track SUN KISS.
The song reached No. 5 on Apple Music’s Today’s Top 100: South Korea chart dated August 29. It also climbed to No. 24 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs South Korea chart on August 28.
The music video for SUN KISS also reached No. 1 on YouTube’s daily trending music video chart in South Korea on August 27.
With strong first-week album sales and rising digital performance, TUIDE is drawing attention as one of HYBE’s notable rookie acts this year.
