He flew back from the U.S. just to support his comrade—V’s brotherly love melts hearts once again!

BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) has once again proven his deep loyalty and warm heart by attending the military discharge ceremony of his junior comrade—just over a month after completing his own service.

Despite currently being busy in the United States, V flew back to South Korea only about 40 days after his own discharge to personally show support for a junior soldier who enlisted right after him in the same unit.

On July 28, group photos of V smiling with fellow soldiers at his former unit—Army 2nd Corps SDT (Special Duty Team)—were posted online, quickly going viral. The heartfelt reunion caught fans by surprise and warmed hearts across social media.

A fan later uploaded the photo to Weverse, and V himself responded, writing,
"When did this get posted? My junior got discharged today."
The photo shows V standing proudly with nearly 50 soldiers, smiling warmly in front of his old barracks. His presence and expression reflected deep pride in his service and affection for his former unit.

The junior soldier who was discharged that day also revealed a touching message V left him:
"We really enjoyed the romance together."

Though short, this message showed the strong bond and respect they shared, viewing even tough military life as a meaningful and memorable experience.

During his service, V was known for his kind and thoughtful personality. Even though he had a 10-year age gap with some fellow soldiers, many described him as a friendly hyung who gave advice, listened to their concerns, and supported their dreams. One senior even called him a "problem-solver hyung" who helped make military life better for everyone.

Soldiers also shared that V generously donated workout equipment to the base and would often treat others to delicious food during leaves or visits to the PX (military store). His thoughtful actions left a lasting impression.

The SDT unit where V served is famous for its intense physical training. Despite suffering from shoulder and thigh injuries, V didn’t hold back. He received top scores in shooting, was first place in winter city combat training, and even earned the Model Soldier Award.

One fellow soldier recalled,
"Watching you train despite your injuries gave me motivation. I still remember us running 3km together during the final test. We pushed each other and finished way ahead of the standard. It was unforgettable."

V also wrote a heartfelt message to fans during his service:
"I’m getting so much good energy from my juniors, peers, and seniors. I feel like I’ve been born again through these new experiences. I’m just thankful to be able to train with them."

From his powerful presence on stage to his quiet support off stage, V continues to show that being a true superstar means staying loyal, humble, and kind—even after taking off the uniform.
