BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) just gave fans something completely unexpected — a Latin-style revival of his solo track Slow Dancing, and it's catching everyone's attention!
On July 20, the legendary Venezuelan band Guaco released a special performance video that blended V’s Slow Dancing with their own song Quiereme Asi (which means "Love Me Like This").
The result? A smooth and soulful mix that sounds like a single original track, even though the two songs are worlds apart.
Guaco, who has been active since 1962, is known for fusing Latin music with genres like hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and pop — creating what they call “tropical music” filled with catchy rhythms and vibrant melodies.
Group member Gustavo Aguado revealed that he fell in love with Slow Dancing after watching V’s live performance at the 2023 Mnet Asian Music Awards. He said he especially loved the flute solo, adding, “Relax at home and enjoy this amazing music.”
Fans are loving the Latin remake, calling it both unexpected and magical, with many praising how V’s soulful voice and Guaco’s signature style blended so naturally.
This isn’t the first time V’s music has been reinterpreted by international artists. Covers of his songs keep popping up all over the world — proving how his sound speaks across languages, cultures, and genres.

Slow Dancing is the title track from V’s first solo album Layover, a project that stepped away from typical K-pop and leaned into 1970s soul-inspired R&B. With a focus on mood, emotion, and artistry, the album received glowing reviews from major outlets like Billboard, Rolling Stone, NME, and more.
Critics praised V for putting art before trends, with Layover being named one of the best albums of 2023. Slow Dancing, in particular, stood out for its romantic tone, its bold flute solo, and choreography that flowed like a dream.
TimeOut ranked Layover at #19 on its “30 Best Albums of 2023” — the highest-ranking K-pop album on the list. Meanwhile, Billboard named it the #2 Best K-pop Album of 2023, highlighting V’s artistic growth and individuality.
Now with Guaco’s unique Latin version of Slow Dancing, fans are seeing V’s music in a new light — and loving every second of it. From Seoul to South America, V’s art continues to inspire and connect the world.
