Actor Jung Joon Won and model-actress Kang Seung Hyun are caught up in dating rumors again, and while both stars say they’re “just close friends,” fans aren’t so sure.
On May 27, rumors started spreading online claiming the two stars might be back together. A post on an online community pointed out that their recent social media photos showed the same locations and matching items—leading netizens to suspect a “lovestagram,” where couples secretly show their relationship on Instagram.
Jung Joon Won, who recently gained more attention for his role in the popular tvN drama Resident Playbook, has known Kang Seung Hyun since they worked together on the 2018 movie Believer. Since then, they’ve been spotted traveling and hanging out together with mutual friends.
According to one entertainment insider, “There have been rumors that the two dated for seven years after filming Believer. They didn’t stay together the whole time, but people say they broke up once and got back together later. Now that Jung Joon Won is getting more famous, those rumors have started again.”
Both stars’ agencies were quick to deny the claims. Jung Joon Won’s agency, Alien Company, said, “They became friends while filming Believer and are just close friends.” Kang Seung Hyun’s side at Kang Entertainment also stated, “They’re longtime friends.”
Still, people in the industry are saying it might be more than friendship. Some claim that the two did date, broke up, and may have rekindled their relationship. Because of their long history, many say it’s hard to tell what their current relationship really is.
Jung Joon Won made his acting debut in the 2015 movie Birdman and has built a strong filmography with roles in Dongju, Anarchist from Colony, Little Forest, and The Escape. His recent sweet romance with Go Yoon Jung in Resident Playbook made him a fan favorite.
Kang Seung Hyun rose to fame after winning an international modeling competition in 2008. Since then, she’s appeared in various dramas and films like That Person, Champion, Homme Fatale, and Believer.

Interestingly, OSEN revealed that during the airing of Resident Playbook, they had already asked his agency about the dating rumors with Kang Seung Hyun. At the time, they were told, “They’re just really close friends,” and were asked not to publish an article. But after more clues showed up online on May 27, the topic blew up again.
