Kim So Hyun is making a bold comeback to the small screen—and this time, she's bringing action, intensity, and serious girl-crush energy!

The beloved actress stars in JTBC’s upcoming weekend drama Good Boy, which premieres on May 31.

Directed by Shim Na Yeon and written by Lee Dae Il, the drama blends comedy, action, and crime in a fresh way, following a team of former national athletes who become police officers through a special recruitment program.

In Good Boy, Kim So Hyun plays Ji Han Na, a former international gold medalist in shooting who now works as a sergeant in a violent crimes unit.

With her stunning visuals and elite skills, Han Na is almost like a celebrity—but she gives it all up after a life-changing event to finally pursue her original dream of becoming a police officer.

This new role marks a big shift for Kim So Hyun, who’s stepping into more intense and action-packed territory. Determined to make everything look real, she took her preparation seriously.

“Shooting may look quiet on the outside, but you need to stay in the same position for 40 minutes to an hour,” she explained. “It takes huge mental focus. I didn’t want to just pretend or copy what I saw—I wanted to make it feel real.”

To make sure she nailed the role, Kim So Hyun trained for about six months, not only practicing shooting but also diving into physical action scenes. “It’s my first time doing this kind of big action. At first, it was painful, but after a while, I started to enjoy that pain,” she added.

In Good Boy, fans can expect to see Kim So Hyun deliver fierce action, emotional depth, and fiery teamwork with co-stars Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok.

Her transformation into a tough, skilled, and emotionally complex police officer has already raised anticipation, with many viewers excited to see this new side of her.

With her dedication and upgraded acting, Kim So Hyun is ready to impress—and Good Boy might just be her boldest role yet.
