• Lee Min Ki Wins Hearts with His Tough-but-Gentle Role in "Face Me"

Lee Min Ki is stealing viewers' hearts with his mix of strength and sensitivity in Face Me, where he stars alongside Han Ji-hyun.

The new KBS 2TV drama, which kicked off on November 6, brings a fresh twist with its unique blend of plastic surgery and crime investigations. Lee Min Ki as Cha Jung-woo and Han Ji Hyun as detective Lee Min-hyung bring depth to their roles, elevating the drama's intensity.

Playing Cha Jung-woo, a skilled but blunt plastic surgeon, Lee Min Ki stands out with his "tough outside, soft inside" character. In the first episode, Jung-woo shows his firm attitude when he tells a patient with facial burns, "This is a cosmetic surgery clinic. We don’t do reconstructive surgery." Even as the patient's guardian begs him, Jung-woo remains cold, saying he’s just doing his job. Lee Min Ki’s calm voice and steady gaze make Jung-woo’s no-nonsense attitude feel real.

But there’s more to Jung-woo than his distant exterior. Beneath the surface, he has a caring side, listening to patients' stories and using his medical skills to uncover truths that help the wrongfully accused. Scenes where he subtly reaches out to help show Jung-woo’s hidden kindness, touching viewers’ hearts.

The chemistry between Jung-woo and his close friends, Han Woo-jin (Lee Yi-kyung) and Kim Seok-hoon (Jeon Bae-soo), adds warmth to the story. Around them, Jung-woo drops his guard, lightening the drama’s otherwise serious tone.

Meanwhile, Han Ji Hyun shines as detective Lee Min-hyung, her first role in a crime drama. Min-hyung’s fun quirks, like eating chocolate after cracking a case or chasing suspects on her electric scooter, give the show a playful touch. Han Ji-hyun trained hard in action scenes, bringing her tough and bold detective character to life.

Lee Min Ki and Han Ji Hyun’s chemistry keeps fans hooked. Their characters may clash, but they share a strong will to help others, whether as a doctor or detective. Though they don’t always see eye-to-eye, their teamwork in solving cases leaves fans eager for more.

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
