• BABYMONSTER Makes Waves in China and Worldwide with New Album 'DRIP'

    BABYMONSTER is taking the music world by storm, especially in China, where they are receiving explosive attention from fans!

    According to YG Entertainment on November 13, the group (Luka, Parita, Asa, Ahyeon, Lami, Laura, Chikita) has achieved impressive success with their first full album DRIP. Their title tracks “DRIP” and “CLIK CLAK” have taken the top spots on QQ Music’s K-pop Weekly Chart for the week of November 1–7, 2024, landing at number 1 and number 3, respectively. The rest of the album’s tracks also made it to the top ranks.

    BABYMONSTER’s popularity continues to rise on QQ Music, with “DRIP” dominating multiple major charts, including the Rising, Trend Index, Popularity, and New Song charts.

    The track has also stayed in the number 1 spot on the MV chart for 13 consecutive days. The group’s music is clearly striking a chord with fans in China, who are showing strong interest and high expectations for their songs.

    Their success isn't limited to just China. DRIP has also made its mark internationally, debuting at number 149 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. The album reached impressive positions on the Billboard Global charts, ranking 16th on the Global (Excl. U.S.) chart and 30th on the Global 200 chart.

    The album’s sales numbers are also remarkable. BABYMONSTER has sold 670,961 copies of DRIP, setting a new career high. Pre-orders for the album reached 820,000 copies in just one week, almost doubling their previous sales.

    With this momentum, BABYMONSTER plans to keep building their global popularity through various platforms, including music shows, variety shows, radio, and YouTube. The group will continue promoting their title tracks “DRIP” and “CLIK CLAK,” along with their follow-up track “Love In My Heart.” Looking ahead, they will embark on their first-ever world tour next year to connect with fans around the globe!

    Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

    On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

    During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

    He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

    The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

    “I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

    He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

    “In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

    Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
