BABYMONSTER shared the behind the scenes advice they received from YG Entertainment’s general producer Yang Hyun Suk for their latest comeback.
On the May 13 broadcast of MBC FM4U’s “Kim Shin Young’s Hope Song at Noon,” BABYMONSTER appeared as guests while Apink’s Jung Eun Ji served as the special DJ.
During the show, Jung Eun Ji asked Rora about Yang Hyun Suk personally joining the choreography direction for the group’s new song “CHOOM”.
Rora explained, “Since the title is ‘Dance,’ he told us that we had to break it down with dancing.” She added that the song has sharp and clean choreography in some parts, but the chorus changes into a more free and party like mood.
She continued, “He gave us a lot of advice, saying that it should look like we are freely enjoying ourselves and dancing happily.”
Jung Eun Ji responded with humor, saying, “He said something obvious very well. He made an obvious thing sound cool,” making the members laugh.
Ruka also talked about why she changed part of the choreography during a music show performance. She shared, “The outfit that day was pretty and short. I wanted to make it look hip, but since the clothes were short, I thought I should show the lines in a prettier way.”
Ruka then performed the changed move on the spot and received cheers from everyone in the studio.
BABYMONSTER also performed “CHOOM” live during the broadcast. After watching them, Jung Eun Ji praised the group’s vocals and teamwork, saying, “Why are you so good at live singing? I could really feel how much effort and practice you put in, so it was a treat for my ears. The members’ teamwork also looks good, and your chemistry is really great.”
BABYMONSTER recently returned with their third mini album “CHOOM” on May 4. The album includes four songs, led by the title track “CHOOM”.
