Lim Ji Yeon is drawing attention for showing a new side of herself in SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis”.

Known for her strong and intense image, Lim Ji Yeon is now winning viewers over with a more lovely romantic comedy charm. In the drama, she plays Shin Seo Ri, an unknown actress who becomes possessed by the soul of Kang Dan Sim, a powerful villainess from Joseon.

In the June 6 episode, Shin Seo Ri and Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun, confirmed their feelings for each other and began their romance in earnest. Seo Ri honestly told him, “There are no secrets between us,” showing a more open side of her character.

She also gave Cha Se Gye herbal medicine and said, “Think of this as my heart of gratitude toward you. That is all,” creating a cool but heart fluttering moment.

The episode also showed Seo Ri and Se Gye enjoying classic couple date moments, including a bakery date, a Namsan cable car ride, and love locks. These scenes highlighted Lim Ji Yeon’s softer charm, which was very different from the fierce energy she showed earlier in the drama.

As the story moves into its second half, Lim Ji Yeon is being praised for showing both cold charisma and the innocent excitement of someone falling in love. Even with the unique setup of a villainess soul inside her character, she makes Shin Seo Ri’s growing feelings feel natural and believable.

Viewers are also noting how Lim Ji Yeon keeps the character strong without making the romance feel forced. Her emotional gaze and lovely expressions are adding more depth to the drama’s romance line.

Meanwhile, episode 10 of “My Royal Nemesis,” which aired on June 6, recorded a nationwide rating of 9.9% according to Nielsen Korea.
