• Girls' Generation's Sooyoung Jokes About Seohyun: "She Failed at Speaking Informally After 23 Years"

Girls' Generation's Sooyoung had a funny take on Seohyun trying to use informal speech.

On September 4, a video titled "A Real Conversation Between Close Friends That Needs Clarifying Every 3 Minutes" was uploaded to Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel, "Hyoyeon’s Level Up." Sooyoung appeared on the show, showcasing her humor alongside host Hyoyeon.

During the episode, Sooyoung talked about how Seohyun once tried using informal speech at Tiffany's birthday party, which also marked Girls' Generation's 17th anniversary. She shared, "At the party, we were blowing out the candles and saying, 'Congratulations!' Then I said to Seohyun, 'Hey, it's been 17 years—why not speak informally now?'"

Sooyoung expected Seohyun to hesitate, but to her surprise, Seohyun said, "Should I try? I could do it." Sooyoung humorously reenacted Seohyun’s reaction, saying, "I was like, 'Has she been waiting for this moment? Does she really want to speak informally?'"

Despite Seohyun's attempt, Hyoyeon revealed that she couldn't go through with it in the end.

Sooyoung sympathized with Seohyun, saying, "I get it. After using formal speech for 17 years, it would be weird to suddenly change." Hyoyeon agreed, adding, "We’re close enough, but it's just hard to switch after so long."

Hyoyeon then asked, "Would it even be good if Seohyun spoke informally to us? What’s the benefit?" Sooyoung made a playful face, and Hyoyeon suggested, "Maybe she could mix both formal and informal speech?"

Sooyoung agreed, saying, "Yeah, that would work better. Otherwise, it’d feel awkward." Hyoyeon added, "It’d be strange for me too. Maybe she can ease into it, like YoonA does, and that would help her feel more comfortable with us."

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
