• 'Monster Rookie' ILLIT Tops Circle Chart's Global K-pop Chart for First Half of the Year

ILLIT has proven they are the new monster rookies in K-pop.

On July 12, Circle Chart revealed their rankings for the first half of the year, and ILLIT (Yoon Ah, Min Joo, Mo Ka, Won Hee, Iroha) grabbed the top spot on the global K-pop chart with their title track "Magnetic" from their debut mini album 'SUPER REAL ME.' The group also ranked 7th in both the digital and streaming categories, making it into the top 10.

Released on March 25, "Magnetic" topped Circle Chart's April monthly chart in three categories: global K-pop, digital, and streaming.

The song stayed at number one on the global K-pop monthly chart for two months straight (April and May), showing its worldwide popularity. It even achieved a "Perfect All-Kill" by topping major music charts in Korea.

ILLIT's digital success isn't just in Korea but also overseas. They made history on two big global music charts: the US Billboard and the UK Official Chart.

ILLIT became the first K-pop group to debut their song on Billboard's main song chart 'Hot 100' and the fastest K-pop artist to enter the UK's 'Official Top 100.'

"Magnetic" is also doing great on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. The song passed 300 million streams in just three months, setting a new record for the fastest time for a K-pop girl group's debut song.

"Magnetic" talks about a teenage girl boldly and honestly going after her love interest. With its catchy melody and addictive choreography, the song became very popular on short-form video platforms, capturing both public interest and critical acclaim.

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
