Ju Ji Hoon has revealed that even he struggled to feel comfortable wearing some of his extravagant costumes in Disney+'s The Remarried Empress, while co-star Shin Min Ah recalled how one of his unusual outfits made her laugh so much that filming had to stop.
On November 2, W Korea released a YouTube interview featuring Ju Ji Hoon and Shin Min Ah, who reunited on screen for the fantasy romance series.
During the conversation, Ju Ji Hoon shared his thoughts about the bold royal costumes he wore while playing Emperor Sovieshu.
"It wasn't really one particular incident, but more of a feeling I had throughout filming. Every time I left the waiting room, I would ask, 'Is this okay?'" he admitted.

The actor explained that many of his outfits featured revealing designs, including extremely deep V-necks and elaborate accessories.
"Most of the clothes were either very revealing or had V-necks that went down to my belly button," he said.
He added that although the costume team repeatedly assured him that the outfits looked good, he was not always convinced.
"The costume team would say, 'You look great,' but you know when you let yourself believe something even though you're thinking, 'I'm not so sure'?" he joked.

Despite his background as a fashion model, Ju Ji Hoon admitted that some of the royal costumes were difficult to wear confidently.
He even revealed that there were several occasions when he felt too uncomfortable with an outfit and decided to change before filming.
Meanwhile, Shin Min Ah shared a funny memory from their first day of filming in the Czech Republic.
According to the actress, Ju Ji Hoon appeared wearing a particularly elaborate costume featuring mesh fabric and lace that reminded her of an accordion.
"He was wearing mesh and lace that looked like an accordion. Even after he changed clothes, the outfit was still so extravagant," she recalled.
Shin Min Ah admitted that she could not hold back her laughter when Ju Ji Hoon began delivering his lines.
"It was our first day of filming, and I laughed while he was saying his lines, so we ended up with an NG," she shared, referring to a failed take.
Ju Ji Hoon also explained that although he was used to wearing unusual clothes as a former model, the attention his costumes attracted on set sometimes made him feel embarrassed.
Their funny behind-the-scenes stories have gained renewed attention following the November 3 premiere of The Remarried Empress.
The drama, based on the popular web novel and webtoon, has received mixed reactions over its Western-inspired royal costumes and fantasy setting.
Some viewers have praised the elaborate designs for bringing the original story's world to life, while others have questioned whether certain outfits and accessories look convincing in the live-action adaptation.
The production team previously explained that the costumes were designed to reflect the characters' relationships and changing emotions.
For example, Empress Navier, played by Shin Min Ah, wears more colorful outfits during her time with Sovieshu, while her looks become softer and more restrained in scenes involving Prince Heinrey, played by Lee Jong Suk.
Despite the divided reactions, Ju Ji Hoon and Shin Min Ah's lighthearted stories show that the unusual costumes also created memorable moments during filming.
Meanwhile, The Remarried Empress stars Shin Min Ah, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk, and Lee Se Young.
The first four episodes premiered on Disney+ on November 3, with Episodes 5 and 6 scheduled for November 11. The series will consist of 10 episodes.
