Actor Yoo Yeon Seok surprised viewers by revealing that he previously operated a bar in Itaewon for nearly five years, sharing his experience as a business owner on SBS's variety show Whenever Possible.
During the November 3 broadcast, Yoo Yeon Seok and Yoo Jae Suk were joined by actors Lee Dong Hwi and Yang Se Jong as they visited a café operated by two Turkish sisters in Seoul's Haebangchon neighborhood.
While talking with the café owners, the sisters opened up about the difficulties of running their business after four years of operation.
Hearing their concerns, Yoo Yeon Seok revealed that he had also experienced the challenges of managing his own business.
He shared, "I used to run a bar in Itaewon for almost five years. If you've been operating a business for four years, that's exactly when you start having these concerns."
The actor previously operated a rooftop wine bar in Itaewon from 2016 to 2020.
Drawing from his experience, Yoo Yeon Seok explained why the fourth year of running a business can be an important turning point.
"Business leases are often signed for five years, so this is usually the time when you start thinking about whether to renew the contract or what to do with the store," he explained.
His comments showed that he understood the sisters' concerns about the future of their café.
However, the serious conversation soon took a funny turn when Yoo Yeon Seok learned that the sisters made their own kaymak, a traditional Turkish dairy dish.
Unable to hide his curiosity, he suddenly interrupted the conversation and asked, "Can we try a bite?"
Yoo Jae Suk playfully called him out for changing the subject, but the sisters surprised everyone by revealing that they had already prepared some kaymak for the guests.
"Can we say something? Actually, we already set some kaymak aside," they said.
The four guests then enjoyed the homemade treat, with Yoo Jae Suk expressing his delight after trying it for the first time.
"It's really delicious," Yoo Jae Suk said before taking another bite.
While the tasting brought laughter to the group, Yoo Yeon Seok's unexpected revelation about his five years as a bar owner became a memorable part of the episode, showing a different side of the actor beyond his entertainment career.
