Actor Yang Se Jong has opened up about suffering an ankle stress fracture, revealing how the injury made him more conscious of his physical condition and daily fitness habits.

During the November 3 broadcast of SBS's variety show Whenever Possible, Yang Se Jong appeared as a guest alongside Lee Dong Hwi and spoke with hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok about his current activities and health.

When Yoo Yeon Seok asked what he was most interested in these days, Yang Se Jong answered, "Scripts for my next project."

The conversation then turned to how he takes care of himself, leading the actor to reveal his previous injury.

"Ever since I broke my ankle, I've been trying to keep the first digit of my weight from changing," Yang Se Jong explained, referring to his efforts to manage his weight.

Surprised by the revelation, Yoo Jae Suk asked how the injury happened.

Yang Se Jong replied, "It broke because of a stress fracture. I think it couldn't handle the load."

A stress fracture is a small crack in a bone that can develop from repeated pressure or physical strain.

Hearing his explanation, Yoo Yeon Seok related to the challenges of getting older.

"In the past, I would get injured while filming action scenes or doing something physically demanding. Now, sometimes I just wake up and something hurts," he joked.

Despite his previous injury, Yang Se Jong revealed that he continues to maintain an active exercise routine.

When Yoo Jae Suk asked whether he goes running, the actor shared that he had already completed a run earlier that morning.

"I ran this morning, too. I woke up at 4:40 AM and ran 6.5 kilometers," he said, surprising the other cast members.

He added that he had gone running despite the rainy weather.

When the others commented that he looked tired, Yang Se Jong explained why he had decided to exercise so early.

"I usually run in the evening, but when I looked in the mirror this morning, I didn't think my face looked good, so I went running," he said.

His comments brought attention to his disciplined approach to fitness, even after experiencing an ankle injury.

Through his appearance on Whenever Possible, Yang Se Jong shared a glimpse of his personal routine and how his previous stress fracture influenced the way he manages his physical condition.
