Girls' Generation member Yuri has raised fans' expectations for the group's upcoming 20th debut anniversary, hinting that the members may return to the stage together in 2027.
On October 30, Yuri appeared as the first guest on John Park's YouTube show *John Park's Bapsama*, where she discussed the unexpected popularity of HyoRiSoo and Girls' Generation's future activities.
During their conversation, John Park praised HyoRiSoo's recent music show performance.
*"I watched your music show performance. It was really cool,"* he told Yuri.
Yuri admitted that she was surprised by the amount of attention the project had received.
*"The response is so fascinating. I'm still surprised and amazed that so many people are showing this much interest,"* she shared.
The singer also revealed a funny behind-the-scenes story about adjusting to modern K-pop music shows.
According to Yuri, she and the other members were unfamiliar with some newer traditions, including individual fancams and the popular "ending fairy" moments, where idols pose for close-up shots at the end of a performance.
*"These days, everyone has their own individual camera. We didn't have that when I was promoting,"* she explained.
Rather than planning a special ending pose, the members simply behaved naturally on stage.
*"When idols do ending fairy moments, they usually try to look pretty. But we were pushing each other around. I think Sooyoung pushed someone. We were fighting for a spot,"* Yuri recalled with a laugh.
She added that some younger idols reportedly told Sooyoung they admired how freely the senior artists behaved on stage.
*"They said they were really jealous of seniors who could be that free on stage,"* Yuri shared.
The conversation then turned to Girls' Generation's upcoming milestone.
With the group celebrating its 20th debut anniversary in 2027, Yuri suggested that fans might have another opportunity to see the members perform together.
*"It's been such a long time since we stood on stage. Next year is Girls' Generation's 20th anniversary, so maybe we'll have a chance to perform,"* she said.
Although Yuri did not confirm any official concert, comeback, or performance schedule, her remarks have raised anticipation for possible anniversary activities.
Girls' Generation debuted in 2007 and will mark two decades in the entertainment industry next year. With HyoRiSoo receiving an enthusiastic response, fans now have another reason to look forward to what the members might prepare for their 20th anniversary.
