BTS member J-Hope's first sneaker collaboration with Japanese fashion designer NIGO and Nike is attracting major attention worldwide, with fans reporting that the limited-edition Air Force 1 sold out within seconds of its release in some markets.
The Nike x NIGO x J-Hope Air Force 1 officially launched globally on October 22 through Nike's SNKRS app and selected stores, quickly generating excitement among sneaker collectors and BTS fans.
According to posts shared on X (formerly Twitter), the sneakers reportedly sold out in less than 30 seconds on Nike's Brazil platform, while the available stock on the US SNKRS app was reportedly gone within five minutes. These sellout times were shared by fans and have not been independently confirmed by Nike.
The sneakers had already attracted strong demand before their worldwide release. During an early launch on October 17 through NIGO's Human Made online store, overseas J-Hope fan accounts reported that the available pairs sold out in under 30 minutes.
The limited-edition release also drew attention on the resale market.
On sneaker resale platform StockX, a pair originally priced at $150 in the United States was reportedly sold for $554, more than three times its retail price. The Korean retail price was set at 189,000 won.
The collaboration marks J-Hope's first sneaker project and the beginning of NIGO's Air Force 1 World Tour series, which will feature collaborations with different creative partners around the world.
The design takes inspiration from the 2001 Nike Air Force 1, combining shiny Burnt Sunrise and metallic gold leather with Chlorine Blue accents. Other details include twisted rope laces, a soft lining, and a squirrel graphic inspired by J-Hope's energetic personality.
The shoes also feature personalized branding, with "NIGO AIR" on the left shoe and "J-HOPE AIR" on the right, replacing the usual Nike Air lettering.
NIGO praised J-Hope's influence on music and fashion, describing him as "someone who can become a true cultural ambassador and pass culture on to the next generation."
J-Hope also shared his thoughts on the collaboration, saying, "I really like the color combination of the patent leather that NIGO created. The unusual shoelace details also make the sneakers even more appealing."
Following the release, fans shared purchase confirmations and photos on social media using hashtags such as #jhopexNike and #jhopexNIGOxNike.
Some fans also noticed fellow BTS member RM wearing J-Hope's collaborative sneakers during the group's October 21 concert in Argentina, adding to the excitement surrounding the release.
With reports of rapid sellouts across multiple countries and resale prices rising well above retail, J-Hope's first Nike sneaker collaboration with NIGO has made a strong impression on both the fashion and K-pop communities.
