Rookie actor Nam Hae Joon is gaining attention after reportedly beating fierce competition with a 300-to-1 casting ratio to secure a role in tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama Love in Disguise.

The rising actor was selected to play Kim Seok Jin, an elite police lieutenant known for his intelligence, dependable personality, and caring attitude toward his colleagues.

According to reports, Nam Hae Joon stood out during the competitive audition process thanks to his fresh appearance, 188 cm height, and distinctive voice, eventually winning the role against hundreds of other hopefuls.

The drama premiered on October 19, marking Nam Hae Joon's first appearance in a television miniseries.

In Love in Disguise, he plays Kim Seok Jin, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's criminal investigation unit and a trusted senior colleague of Jae Hee, played by Seol In Ah.

His character has attracted attention for his thoughtful personality, particularly in his interactions with Jae Hee.

In one scene, senior officer Jung Wan Goo, played by Kim Ki Bang, asks Seok Jin whether he had always thought of Jae Hee as a man.

Seok Jin firmly responds, "I've never thought about it that way."

He also shows concern for Jae Hee after she gets injured, simply telling her, "Put some medicine on it."

Beyond these caring moments, Seok Jin demonstrates his professional skills by carefully presenting details of a murder investigation involving Taekang Group's task force. He also helps Jae Hee prepare for an interview, showing his supportive role within the team.

Nam Hae Joon's agency, Salt Entertainment, expressed its excitement about the actor's new opportunity.

The agency stated, "Nam Hae Joon is taking on his first miniseries through 'Love in Disguise.' Please also look forward to his chemistry with Jae Hee and the rest of the detective team."

Meanwhile, Love in Disguise stars Im Si Wan as Yoon Yi Joon, a wealthy third-generation heir suspected of murder, and Seol In Ah as a former special forces officer turned detective who goes undercover as his personal secretary.

The romantic thriller follows their unusual relationship as they become involved in a dangerous investigation.

With his successful 300-to-1 audition and his first major television drama role, Nam Hae Joon is beginning to establish himself as a promising rookie actor.
