Han So Hee has shared surprisingly candid thoughts about marriage, her ideal partner, and how she imagines her life changing if she becomes a mother.
The actress recently sat down for an interview ahead of the release of her new film The Intern, where she stars opposite Choi Min Sik.
During the conversation, Han So Hee was asked what kind of job she might try if she were not an actress. She jokingly said she would like to work as an entertainment reporter because she enjoys meeting people and is confident in her typing skills.
She added that one question she would like to ask celebrities is, “When are you getting married?”
That naturally led to questions about her own marriage plans.
Han So Hee answered, “I really want to get married before I turn 40. I don’t have any fantasy about marriage, but I do have a dream of having a child.”
She also revealed what she values in a future partner, saying, “I want to marry someone who is stable.”
The actress then added a playful comment about appearance, explaining that because she hopes to have children someday, she would also like her future husband to be good-looking.
Han So Hee was equally open about how motherhood could affect her acting career. She said that if she has a child, she may temporarily step away from acting to focus on raising them.
“After having a baby, I don’t think I would act for a while,” she said. “I think I would stop working until the child enters elementary school. Before then, I want to create as many good memories together as possible.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Han So Hee discussed working with Choi Min Sik in The Intern, a Korean remake of the 2015 Hollywood film starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway.
While acknowledging the pressure of remaking a popular movie, Han So Hee said she viewed the opportunity positively.
“It was an honor to remake a good original work and show it again in Korea,” she explained, adding that she intentionally avoided copying Anne Hathaway’s performance and wanted to create a different interpretation with Choi Min Sik.
Han So Hee also described Choi Min Sik as someone she initially found intimidating but later became very comfortable with during filming.
“At first, I was a little scared of him, but we became close during the script reading. Now he feels like a very cute boy. He’s adorable and lovable,” she said.
With The Intern beginning its theatrical run strongly, Han So Hee’s interview also drew attention for showing a more personal side of the actress, especially her straightforward thoughts on marriage, children, and the kind of future she hopes to build.
