BLACKPINK member Jennie is receiving strong support from international fans after her agency, OA (ODDATELIER), announced firm legal action against the spread of allegedly manipulated photos, videos, false information, and malicious online content involving the artist.
On August 18, OA released an official statement saying it had identified content circulating through online communities and social media that included what the agency described as “groundless defamation and manipulated photos and videos.”
The agency said it is continuously monitoring online posts and collecting evidence with legal representatives. OA added that it plans to pursue civil and criminal measures in serious cases involving content that allegedly alters Jennie’s appearance, repeatedly circulates misleading clips, or adds insulting comments and false claims.
One part of the statement especially drew attention from fans.
OA emphasized, “We clearly state that there will be no settlements or leniency during this process.”
The agency also thanked fans who have been submitting reports and encouraged them to continue providing specific evidence, including URLs and screenshots.
Following the announcement, many international fans expressed support for Jennie and called on the agency to follow through with its legal response.
One fan wrote, “I really hope they take legal action this time and do not let it end with just a statement.”
Another encouraged Jennie, who founded OA, saying, “Well done. CEO Jennie, fighting.”
Some fans also raised concerns about the growing use of AI and editing technology to create misleading celebrity content. One supporter described AI-generated deepfakes and fake videos as “disgusting and inhumane online crimes,” while another said they were relieved that Jennie now has an agency willing to take a stronger position in protecting her.
The statement came shortly after Jennie completed her appearance at Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan. An unverified video connected to the performance had circulated online, but its authenticity has not been officially established.
Rather than focusing on the disputed footage itself, fans have largely turned their attention toward protecting Jennie from manipulated material and harmful speculation.
Some supporters also referenced the pressure Jennie appeared to experience during parts of her recent festival schedule. Fans said they were concerned after seeing moments from her performances that appeared stressful, with one commenting, “Seeing her hands shaking on stage was heartbreaking. People online have really gone too far.”
There were also skeptical reactions questioning whether the agency would fully pursue the cases. However, OA’s official account continued to receive supportive replies, with fans repeatedly highlighting its promise of “no settlements or leniency.”
One fan jokingly expressed renewed trust in the company by saying, “OA, from today we are family.”
For many supporters, OA’s latest announcement represents more than another warning against malicious posts. Fans are now calling for sustained legal action and stronger protection for Jennie as manipulated celebrity images and videos become increasingly common online.
