Actor Jang Sung Won, the older brother of Jang Nara, revealed that he recently underwent unexpected shoulder surgery after experiencing sudden and intense pain.
On August 19, Jang Sung Won shared an update through his Instagram Story along with a photo showing him receiving an IV while hospitalized.
Explaining what happened, he wrote, “My shoulder hurt like I was being electrocuted, so I came to get it checked, and it ended up leading straight to surgery.”
He added that the procedure was not considered major, but admitted that the situation still made him nervous.
Jang Sung Won said, “It really wasn’t a major surgery, but even so, I was a little scared.”
The sudden update led to concern from fans. However, he later shared a cute video of his dog, which appeared to reassure followers that he was recovering and staying in good spirits.
Jang Sung Won debuted as an actor in 1995 and has appeared in several films and dramas throughout his career. More recently, he appeared in Taxi Driver 3, where he played reporter Bong and drew attention with his performance.
For now, Jang Sung Won has not shared further details about the exact condition that required surgery, but his own post indicated that the procedure was not a major one.
