Choi Yena drew laughs after openly expressing her frustration with two male contestants who failed to notice what was happening around them on SBS’s dating program My Remaining Love.
During the August 17 broadcast, female contestants Kim Na Young, Kang Min Young, Seo Robin, and Jung Ye Ji were given a mission involving handwritten letters. They had to secretly place the letters in a mailbox without the male contestants noticing.
However, Han Do Gon and Kim Ryun Gi happened to be eating breakfast in the dining room near the area, making the mission unexpectedly difficult.
Kim Na Young appeared surprised when she noticed the two men and quickly sat down, while Seo Robin accidentally dropped her letter while approaching. Kang Min Young then tried to indirectly encourage the men to leave by asking, “Why don’t you ask us to eat together?” and “Why don’t you call us out?”
Despite the women’s unusual behavior, Han Do Gon and Kim Ryun Gi appeared confused and did not immediately realize that something was happening.
Watching from the studio, Choi Yena could no longer hide her frustration and jokingly commented, “If you two are finished eating, you should start getting up. How can you be that unaware? I’m getting frustrated.”
Her playful reaction brought laughter to the studio.
The two men eventually finished their meal and left the area, allowing the female contestants to complete their mission and continue with the matching date.
My Remaining Love is an SBS dating program featuring young adults who have experienced serious illnesses or life-threatening health situations. The program follows eight participants as they explore relationships while reflecting on their experiences with life and recovery.
Choi Yena previously shared during the program’s premiere that she had been diagnosed with lymphoma as a young child.
She explained, “When I was a baby, I was a pediatric lymphoma patient. Because of that, I relate to the participants of ‘My Remaining Love,’ and it makes me feel emotional.”
She also recalled the difficulties her family experienced at the time, saying, “My parents went through a lot because of my hospital expenses. They even went out to sell kimbap.”
While Yena’s personal experience has helped her connect emotionally with the participants, her latest appearance showed a lighter side as her humorous frustration with the two unaware contestants became one of the episode’s memorable moments.
