JTBC’s weekend drama “The Apartment Job” has achieved its highest viewership ratings so far as Ji Sung’s character faced a major turning point in the story.
According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 4, which aired on July 19, recorded an average nationwide rating of 6.0% and 6.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area. This marked an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the previous episode and continued the drama’s steady ratings growth.
In the latest episode, Park Hae Kang, played by Ji Sung, entered the election for chairman of the residents’ council after gaining support through his work in the apartment community.
However, his opponent Seo Kang Won, played by Baek Hyun Jin, attempted to damage his reputation by publicly revealing details about his past.
During an emergency residents’ meeting, Seo Kang Won questioned him, saying, “Why did you hide the fact that you were the leader of a nationwide criminal organization?” The broadcast was then suddenly stopped before Park Hae Kang could fully explain, causing concern among the residents.
Kang Ha Ri, played by Ha Yoon Kyung, later defended Park Hae Kang through the apartment’s online community. She boldly stated, “I married him because I fell in love with his kick,” showing her unexpected support for him.
With help from those around him, Park Hae Kang found a surprising way to recover from the crisis and eventually won the chairman election.
His victory also created a new conflict with Lee Choong Won, played by Park Byung Eun, whose plans were affected by the sudden developments.
The episode ended with a tense meeting between the two characters. After congratulating Park Hae Kang and offering him a handshake, Lee Choong Won said, “Mr. Park Hae Kang, we will have business with each other again,” raising anticipation for their next confrontation.
Episode 5 of “The Apartment Job” will air on July 25 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
