SEVENTEEN’s new unit V8, made up of The8 and Vernon, is gaining strong attention from global media and fans with their first mini album “V8.”
According to Pledis Entertainment on July 4, Billboard highlighted the unit’s new album and described it as “an album that searches for true self expression within K pop’s detailed production system.” Billboard also noted that the title track “singasong” shows the members’ sincerity behind its bright and playful sound.
Other international media outlets also praised the album. The Fader and Bandwagon Asia focused on V8’s bold musical style, saying the unit moved away from the usual K pop formula with fresh storytelling and experimental sounds. Vogue Singapore also described the album as “an electronic pop masterpiece with techno sensibility,” praising how the tracks were connected together.

V8 is also showing strong results on global charts. After its release, the album ranked No. 5 on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart. It also became a half million seller in just 3 days after reaching 500,000 copies sold.
In China, V8 also performed well on QQ Music, topping the digital bestseller album chart on both the daily chart and the weekly chart from June 26 to July 2.
Meanwhile, V8 is set to perform on MBC’s “Show! Music Core.” The unit will also hold solo concerts under “2026 Vernon The8 ‘V8’ Live” at KINTEX in Goyang on July 11 and 12, followed by shows at AsiaWorld Expo in Hong Kong from July 17 to 19.
