SEVENTEEN’s new unit V8, made up of The8 and Vernon, is showing strong results with its first mini album.
According to Hanteo Chart on July 2, V8’s 1st mini album “V8” sold 559,904 copies by the previous day. With this, the album became a half million seller and ranked No. 1 on Hanteo’s daily album chart.
The album is also performing well overseas. “V8” entered the Worldwide iTunes Album chart at No. 5 on its release day and climbed one spot the next day. On China’s QQ Music Digital Best Selling Albums chart, it stayed at No. 1 for 3 straight days.
“V8” also received platinum certification on QQ Music after recording more than 1 million yuan in sales, which is about 230 million won.
The album was completed with the participation of global names such as Pharrell Williams, Makatok, Kirara, and Dylan Brady, adding more attention to the unit’s first release.
The title track “singasong” entered Melon Top 100 at No. 23 shortly after release. It also entered Instagram’s Trending Audio chart on July 2, helped by the growing popularity of its shuffle step challenge.
The “shuffle challenge” has already gained attention after SEVENTEEN members, TWS’s Ji Hoon, ILLIT’s Iroha, and LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yun Jin and Kazuha joined in.
V8 will perform “singasong” and the b side track “rat race” on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on July 2.
The unit will also hold “2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE” on July 11 and 12 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Goyang, followed by shows in Hong Kong from July 17 to 19 at AsiaWorld Expo Hall 10.
