SEVENTEEN’s The8 drew attention after sharing a heartwarming story about how he showed love to his parents.
On the June 23 episode of the web variety show “Salon Drip 2”, SEVENTEEN members Vernon and The8 appeared as guests and talked about their unit activities, personal lives, and funny family stories.
During the episode, Vernon brought up The8’s home and said he was impressed when he visited. He shared, “Every room has its own theme. It was the nicest house I have ever visited”.
The8 then explained that his home has several special spaces. He said, “There is a workroom, a space decorated like a wine bar, a healing room, a bedroom, and a tea room”, surprising the hosts with the unique setup.
The conversation later turned to The8’s home in China. Vernon asked, “Isn’t your house in China in a building where there is one home on each floor?” The8 calmly replied, “It is my parents’ house”.
When Vernon asked if The8 had bought the home for his parents, The8 answered, “I gave all the money I earned two years ago to my parents. I feel proud”.
His answer touched many viewers, as it showed his deep love and gratitude toward his family. Vernon jokingly reacted, “I did not show filial love by buying a house. I am being compared too much with The8”. He then added, “Still, the heart is what matters”, making everyone laugh.
Vernon also shared a funny story about his own family. He said that when he shaved his head, his mother also shaved her head. He then added that his younger sister recently did the same.
Vernon joked, “Everyone in my family ended up shaving their heads in their 20s. I think we have some kind of buzz cut DNA”.
